NEW DELHI: Embattled representative and advance defaulter Vijay Mallya was captured on Tuesday by Scotland Yard on a removal warrant by India. He will be delivered under the watchful eye of the Westminster Magistrates' Court later in the day.
India had given a formal removal ask for Mallya according to the Extradition Treaty amongst India and the UK through a note verbale on February 8.
While giving over the demand, India had stated that it has a "genuine" body of evidence against Mallya and kept up that if a removal demand is respected, it would indicate British "affectability towards our worries".
A month ago, getting under way the procedure of removal of Mallya, the British government had affirmed India's ask for and sent it to a locale judge for further activity.
